Artist Bio

Graceina Samosir is a visual artist and former third-culture kid currently based in Ontario, Canada. Moving between South East Asia, Europe, South America, and North America, her work is a personal search for the meaning of home. 

Using painting, drawing, and digital illustrations, Graceina focuses on the beauty in the mundane - capturing the quiet, often overlooked moments between friends, family, and the memories of her past. Her style blends raw, energetic marks with clean graphic design to explore the tension between holding on and letting go. 

Driven by honesty and a stream of consciousness process, she treats her body of work as a living self-portrait. For Graceina, her art practice is a way to unabashedly find connection and stay grounded in a world that is always changing.
